With funding from Tesco/WWF Innovation Connections we were able to bring together growers, processors, retailers, landowners and even our software engineers through the use of our Farm Carbon Calculator (and of course a great in-person lunch!). Here we are in a field of mustard with the grower describing how they are using this flowering break crop in their organic rotation for its allelopathic affects in the soil to prevent disease of future root crops (such as the organic carrots for the supply chain in question) and keep the ground covered at key times of year to protect fertility and soil structure.
